Terms of Service
Last updated: 26 July 2026
These terms are the deal between you and Nutrigate when you use nutrigate.app. We have kept them short and in plain language, because terms you can actually read protect both of us better.
1. Who we are
Nutrigate ("Nutrigate", "we", "us") is operated from the United Kingdom. Questions about these terms go to hello@nutrigate.app.
2. What Nutrigate is
Nutrigate is a nutrition tracker offered as a subscription, Nutrigate Plus: logging your food by voice or text, AI food parsing, days scored across nutrients, streaks and suggestions that close your nutrient gaps. New accounts start with a free trial (section 4). Accounts created before 26 July 2026 also keep their original free tracking plan. We keep improving the product, which means features can change, grow or occasionally be retired.
3. Your account
You sign in with a magic link or one-time code sent to your email; a new email creates an account automatically. Your account is yours: keep control of your email inbox, since anyone who can read it can sign in as you. You must be at least 16 to use Nutrigate.
4. Plus, trials and billing
Accounts created on or after 26 July 2026 use Nutrigate through a Plus subscription: the free trial below is how you try it, and once the trial ends a paid plan is needed to keep using the app. Accounts created before that date had a card-free welcome period and keep their free tracker alongside the subscription; that arrangement stays as it was.
First-time subscribers get a free trial (currently 3 days, added on top of any welcome period remaining). You add a card to start it, and when the trial ends the plan you picked starts billing automatically unless you cancel first. Cancelling during the trial costs nothing.
Plans renew automatically (weekly, monthly or annual) at the price shown when you subscribed, in US dollars, until you cancel. Cancel anytime from your account; you keep Plus until the end of the period you have paid for, and there is no charge after that. Payments are processed by Stripe and your card details never touch our servers.
If you are a consumer in the UK or EU you may have a legal right to cancel within 14 days of subscribing. Email us within that window and we will refund fairly, accounting for time you have already used Plus. Nothing in these terms cuts back rights the law gives you.
5. Not medical advice
Nutrigate gives general nutrition information built on evidence-based targets and public food data. It is not medical, dietetic or treatment advice, and it is not a medical device. Talk to a qualified professional before acting on anything here if you have a health condition, are pregnant, or manage your diet under supervision.
One thing we care about: tracking should serve you, not rule you. If logging food starts to harm your relationship with eating, please step away from the app and reach out to someone qualified. Nutrigate is not designed for, and must not be used as, a tool for managing an eating disorder.
6. AI features and accuracy
The AI reads what you say or type and estimates foods, portions and nutrients. It is good, but it guesses; portions especially are estimates, and nutrition values come from public sources such as USDA FoodData Central plus our own modelling. Check entries that matter and correct anything that looks off. AI features have fair usage limits so one account cannot burn the service down.
7. Fair use
Do not abuse the service: no breaking or probing security, no scraping or reselling our data or content, no reverse engineering beyond what the law allows, no using the AI endpoints outside the app, and nothing unlawful. We can suspend or close accounts that do, with notice where reasonable.
8. Your data and content
Your logs are yours. You give us just the licence we need to run the service: storing, processing and backing up your data to provide Nutrigate to you. How we handle personal data is in the Privacy policy. To delete your account and its data, email us.
9. Availability
We aim for Nutrigate to be reliable, but it is provided as is, without a guarantee of uninterrupted availability. We may change or withdraw features, and where a change materially reduces what paying subscribers get, we will tell you and you can cancel.
10. Liability
To the extent the law allows: we are not liable for indirect or consequential losses, and our total liability for claims connected to the service is capped at what you paid us in the 12 months before the claim. Nothing limits liability that cannot legally be limited, such as for death or personal injury caused by negligence, or fraud. Your statutory consumer rights are unaffected.
11. Changes to these terms
If we change these terms in a way that matters, we will flag it in the app or by email before it takes effect. Carrying on using Nutrigate after that means you accept the new terms.
12. Law
These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales, and disputes belong to the courts of England and Wales, except that consumers keep any protections and venue rights of the country they live in.
